In order to determine what made that print, you're first going to need to find fresh prints in new snow to get an accurate idea of size. That print could have been made by an average sized dog, a large wolf, or anything in between.

Apr 19, 2018 · The knife is 4.2" long, so the paws are about 4.2" wide, which is typical of an adult cougar. The larger paw was planted first followed by the smaller paw imprinted over it. Notice no claw marks and the two indentations at the bottom of the pad. Here is another mountain lion print I found last fall, in a different part of the nearby mountains.
