Personally, I have to go with Helena’s version of Margaret. I know that she’s a bit of a polarizing choice, but I really enjoyed what she did with the character. So much of Vanessa’s version was playing the starry eyed princess looking for love, then being crushed by it. This also played a lot into Lesley’s version.

Dec 23, 2020 · I first saw the Crown and then the Queen. I absolutely loved Alex Jennings as David, especially the scene where he plays the bagpipes on the day of QE2’s coronation. When I first saw him in The Queen, I wondered if I’d be able to see him as Charles especially because Josh O’Connor absolutely killed it as young Charles.

Dec 28, 2019 · HBC's impression of Princess Margaret's resting bitch face is spot on: I see disdain, ennui, fatigue, indignation yet there is a sense of pride. In this show we see a (particular) portrayal of Margaret's private life and her public image was not the sole focus here. I did not get the sense that HBC came off as a sort of drunken boor.
