Aug 10, 2023 · Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is now Acrobat Reader. Only the term DC has been removed since Document Cloud migration to Adobe Cloud storage, but functionality hasn't changed yet. There's likely a chance that you have got the latest version, Modern Viewer installed on your new computer.

So it was no doubt from get.adobe.com. Halfway through installation, Windows Defender blocked it because it found the Wacatac B, a serious threat, attached to the .exe file.
