X is teaming up with Visa to soon offer a system for real-time payments on the social media platform — signaling some progress in a yearslong vision from billionaire owner Elon Musk to create an “everything app.

Musk once dreamed of making X the “biggest financial institution in the world,” taking the first step of launching a peer-to-peer payments competitor to PayPal’s Venmo, Block’s Cash App and bank-owned Zelle.

Elon Musk struck a deal with Visa Inc., naming the payments company the first major partner on his mission to turn X into an “everything app.”

The U.S. Embassy in Colombia canceled Visa appointments on Monday with people seeking entry into the United States, the latest chapter in a nasty battle between the two countries sparked by Colombia’s initial refusal to accept military flights filled with deportees sent by President Trump.
