After just four days, the Switch 2 had sold 3.5 million units, making it the most successful console launch of all time. Nintendo is now reporting it sold just shy of six million Switch 2s in the system’s first month,

As of 30th June, Nintendo sold 5.82 million Switch 2s (3.5 million of which were sold in the first four days) along with 5.63 million copies of Mario Kart World, including the digital downloads included in the popular Mario Kart hardware bundle. Overall Switch 2 software sales totalled 8.67 million units.

Nintendo’s Q1 2026 earnings report was released earlier today and revealed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe added another 660,000 unit sales to its total during the quarter that also saw the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. This brings the lifetime sales of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to 68,860,000.
