Writer and actress Sharon Horgan has a new show and a new deal with HBO. She’s signed a first-look agreement with the network, and will write, executive produce, and star in a comedy series about a divorced woman in her 50s struggling with aging parents, a son reaching adulthood, and dating.

Warner Bros Discovery-owned network HBO has handed a straight-to-series order to a comedy from Irish actor, writer and producer Sharon Horgan.

Sharon Horgan will write, executive produce and star in a new original comedy series for HBO. The currently untitled project, which has been given a straight-to-series order, is the first under a new two-year first-look television deal between the network and the "Bad Sisters" creator and her Merman production company.

Horgan won the writer: comedy gong at the Bafta TV Craft Awards, alongside US actor and comedian Rob Delaney, for their sitcom, Catastrophe. She is also the creator of HBO
