Center Anthony Davis was officially introduced as a member of the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. After a superstar swap with the Los Angeles Lakers that sent guard Luka Doncic to Los Angeles, Davis steps in to join guard Kyrie Irving and the rest of the 2024 Western Conference champions as they look to make another run through the postseason.

After dealing Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers during a road trip that lasted more than a week, the Mavericks were back to officially introduce Anthony Davis and Max Christie — as well as Caleb Martin, who was acquired in a separate deal before the trade deadline — to local media in downtown Dallas on Friday.

While this trade may never fully make sense to some, one thing is clear; Anthony Davis is ready to prove himself in Dallas. Davis will make his debut when the team returns to the American Airlines Center on Saturday against the Houston Rockets, Davis confirmed in Friday's press conference.
