A sixth person has died following the car-ramming attack at a Christmas market in the eastern German city of Magdeburg. A 52-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital, a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Naumburg told dpa on Monday.

The suspect in the car-ramming incident at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg had appeared in seven investigative proceedings in the two years prior to the attack, Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper reported on Saturday.

A victim who was critically injured in the attack has succumbed to her injuries, prosecutors have said.
