Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. knew there was a possibility he would be traded, “but my hope was always to stay here.”

In both 2026 and 2027, Robert has a team option on his deal. Both are worth $20 million. That means the White Sox can activate those options and pay Robert $20 million to play for them in 2026, and potentially another $20 million to play for them in 2027.

GM Chris Getz hinted that the Sox are likely to exercise their $20 million option on the center fielder for 2026.
