According to B/R Open Ice, Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said Friday that Landeskog "is an option" for the Avs during their upcoming first-round playoff series against the Dallas Stars. After skating with the team and getting back into playing condition, Landeskog was temporarily sent to the Avs' AHL affiliate in the Colorado Eagles.

It’s been more than 1,000 days since Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog skated in an NHL game. The 32-year-old forward underwent arthroscopic knee surgery following the 2022 Stanley Cup that was supposed to sideline him for only 12 weeks but ended up costing him the entire 2022 season.

The Avalanche (49-29-4) finished third in the Central Division and will visit the Stars for Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round when the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on Saturday (8:30 p.m. ET; TNT, truTv, MAX, Sportsnet, SN360, TVA Sports).
