Central Falls municipal judge Joseph Molina Flynn abruptly resigned Thursday shortly after FBI agents raided his law offices in downtown.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A heavy law enforcement presence was seen Thursday morning outside a law office building in Providence. A spokesperson for the FBI told 12 News they are conducting “court-authorized activity” at an office on Dorrance Street.

PROVIDENCE — FBI agents on Thursday searched a downtown Providence office building that includes the office of a Rhode Island immigration lawyer. Joseph Molina Flynn, who was also Municipal Court judge for Central Falls, resigned from the bench after the search, Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera told the Globe.

Federal agents marched boxes of files out of a Providence immigration lawyer’s office Thursday afternoon, hours after their raid inside an office building on Dorrance Street began. NBC 10 News observed agents from the FBI,

GoLocal has learned through multiple sources that the FBI search is focused on the office of attorney Joseph Molina-Flynn, a prominent attorney and a municipal court judge in Central Falls. He is also an adjunct professor at Roger Williams Law School. Molina-Flynn did not respond to requests for comment.
