If all future Nintendo Switch 2 games receive this much time and attention—with such a focus on playing to the dockable handheld’s strengths—then we could be looking at one of the best consoles of all time. Donkey Kong Bananza one of those games that you end up buying an entire console for, and not regretting it one bit.

Donkey Kong Bananza on Switch 2 is a very, very good video game all about smashing stuff up and exploring gorgeous cartoon worlds as Nintendo’s favorite ape. But between all the banana eating, punching, jumping, and singing, there are loading screens featuring some wonderful retro-style artwork that I just adore.

While Donkey Kong Bananza does not feature a traditional New Game Plus mode, a lot happens once the player beats it and collects everything.
