Former Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka found himself in major trouble after being accused of faking concussion in a first-class match in Colombo on February 2 in a bid to travel to Dubai to participate in Dubai Capitals' ILT20 game against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders that same evening.

Sri Lanka Cricket has initiated an investigation against Dasun Shanaka, accusing him of faking a concussion to skip a domestic match. The all-rounder allegedly used this to play for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20.

Sri Lankan all-rounder, , recently left a First-Class game being conducted in Colombo in order to feature for Dubai Capitals in the recently concluded DP World ILT20 on the same day (February 2). Sri Lanka Cricket are reported to conduct a full-fledged inquiry on the same.

Dasun Shanaka was requested to play for SSC despite the International League T20 event going on because the team was fighting to avoid relegation.
