The Athletics are calling up power-hitting first baseman Nick Kurtz after only 32 minor league games, sources told ESPN on Monday. Kurtz, the No. 4 overall pick in last year's draft, is expected to be activated Wednesday,

Per ESPN's Alden Gonzalez, the Athletics are calling the first baseman up to the majors. Kurtz was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft and played just 32 games in the minor leagues before the call-up.

After being called up by the Athletics following an impressive Triple-A performance, Nick Kurtz debuts against the Rangers on April 23, 2025.
