Two top U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have been reassigned amid pressure to dramatically increase arrests of immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally, three sources familiar with the matter said.

The shake-up at ICE comes as the president, and his top immigration officials, are increasingly frustrated with the pace of arrests and deportations.

President Donald Trump has axed two top officials from their positions at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as pressure mounts for the federal agency to meet the president’s ambitious deportation targets.

The officials, Russell Hott and Peter Berg, were recently cut from ICE’s enforcement division amid increasing pressure from the Trump administration to ramp up the number of illegal migrant
