Why take a "sack" (there's no actual contact) or even take off and run when you can try to see if a pass works or a pass-catcher can make it work?

It was bound to happen. At some point, the Washington Commanders ’ defense was going to get the best of the offense in training camp. That came on Friday, Day 3. Quarterback Jayden Daniels didn’t have his best day, which is rare. Daniels was picked off multiple times. Even backup quarterback Marcus Mariota didn’t have his best day.
Day three brought the heat, figuratively and literally. A blistering hot morning pushed practice back an hour. The Commanders, however, still showed out.
Commanders are making a lot happen defensively as training camp kicks off, and two of their best playmakers are embracing their roles.
