The new chief constable of Nottinghamshire has been confirmed in her role. Kate Meynell has spent much of her career with the Nottinghamshire force but until recently was deputy chief in Derbyshire.

Chief Constable Kate Meynell, of Nottinghamshire Police, told journalists that the knifeman had been reported twice to police for stalking before murdering three victims.

Kate Meynell became the new Chief Constable on Monday, December 12, after Craig Guildford transferred to West Midlands Police in the same role.
