Trina Crider called her sleeping husband in tears after scratching off a $125,000 top prize in the Merry Money 50X game, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 8 news release. She bought her winning ticket at a gas station in Ridgeway, about a 45-mile drive north from Greensboro, North Carolina, lottery officials said.

The Virginia Lottery said a man from Ashburn and his aunt, who lives in Emporia, Va., will split $1 million after they won Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle.

The Caroline County woman, who usually plays the Print ‘N Play Bingo game two or three times a week, tried a 50X the Money Scratcher game instead and won $200,000, the Virginia Lottery said in a Dec. 28 post on X, formerly Twitter.
