A new wildfire was reported today at 5:07 p.m. in San Luis Obispo County, California. Rancho Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, there is no information on the containment of the fire and the cause of it has yet to be determined.

The bulk of the fire is threatening the Carrizo Plain National Monument, which is home to several endangered and threatened wildlife and plant species.
