North Texas expects storms this Father's Day, potentially disrupting plans, as two batches of rain arrive from Oklahoma. These colliding storm systems will bring widespread showers, especially north of I-20, through early afternoon. While the severe threat is low, some strong cells could produce gusty winds and heavy downpours.

Heavy rain continues to fall across North Texas Thursday morning, prompting another First Alert Weather Day. The heaviest rain is falling east of I-35 in areas that have already picked up nearly 6" of rain in the last 24 hours. Ponding on roads will be a risk for some during the Thursday morning commute.

A flood watch is in effect through Thursday evening for Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall and Kaufman counties, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort

Safety officials said the city of Bonham in Fannin County sustained "considerable damage" during Sunday night storms.

The NWS Fort Worth TX issued a tornado warning at 11:10 p.m. on Sunday in effect until 11:45 p.m. The warning is for Hood, Johnson, Parker and Tarrant counties.

Severe weather is impacting much of Texas this week. More than three inches of rain fell in New Braunfels along the stretch of I-35 north of San Antonio last night. Numerous high-water rescues have been reported in and around the Alamo City after relentless rain .
