McLaren pair Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris continued their extraordinarily tight Formula 1 title battle at the Belgian Grand Prix with the Aussie edging out his team-mate at Spa

McLaren boss Andrea Stella says teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are racing like champions and the Formula One title will probably be decided by fine margins and individual brilliance.

Nico Rosberg insisted Lewis Hamilton would not have made the same mistakes that Lando Norris did as the McLaren driver missed out on victory at the Belgian Grand Prix. Pole-sitter Norris, after a delayed start due to heavy rain, lost the lead on the first racing lap of Sunday’s race to teammate and championship rival Oscar Piastri.

It was all going so well for Lando Norris. Two straight wins had finally erased that frustrating feeling of never catching up to the top of the standings. He looked confident and in rhythm, finally driving like the face of McLaren’s future.

Oscar Piastri increased his Formula 1 championship lead to 16 points after taking the win at the Belgian Grand Prix. Piastri got past McLaren teammate Lando Norris off the line, a move that ended up deciding the race.
