The Knicks, meantime, are the only coaching opening in the NBA but they have been shut down while trying to speak with numerous sitting NBA head coaches, including Jason Kidd (Dallas), Ime Udoka (Houston), Chris Finch (Minnesota), Billy Donovan (Chicago) and Quin Snyder (Atlanta).
The New York Knicks made a drastic move following their playoff exit against the Indiana Pacers, firing head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Some of the top contenders expected to trade for Durant include the Minnesota Timberwolves, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Houston Rockets. However, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report has proposed a wild four-team trade that ends up with the New York Knicks landing Durant.
