Marte, 31, signed a six-year, $116.5 million contract extension with the D-Backs on Wednesday, meaning he is under contract through the 2031 season. Marte injured his hamstring on Friday while legging out a double during the first inning of Arizona's 6-4 win over the Washington Nationals.

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte on the 10-day Injured List, per the team on X/Twitter. In a corresponding move, utility infielder Tim Tawa was called up from Triple-A Reno.
