Horizon actor Ashly Burch has addressed the AI Aloy video that leaked online last week, using it to call attention to the demands of striking voice actors. Ashly Burch, the award-winning voice and performance actor behind Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy — one of the most prominent characters on PlayStation today — has some news and some very strong thoughts about the leaked Sony experiment that saw her character voiced and performed by AI technology instead of her or any other human being.

On 15 March, 2025, actress Ashly Burch – who plays Aloy in the Horizon franchise – posted a video statement on the leaked AI footage, emphasising that she was told that her performance was not used to create the AI model. She also reflected that she was “worried about this art form.”
