As anger builds over the right-back’s free transfer move to Real Madrid, it grows ever more unlikely that he will be afforded a positive send-off by the Liverpool fans. According to Alan Shearer, however, this is simply not on. Shearer has a connection with Liverpool having lived near to Anfield during his days with Blackburn Rovers.

Despite the club’s best attempts to convince Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay, it seems as if the Liverpool defender will make the switch to Real Madrid this summer. Alexander-Arnold will follow in Steve McManaman’s footsteps and switch Liverpool for Madrid, where he’ll link up with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid are working to finalise a deal to sign the England international on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.
