As the long winter nights drag on, there's a little country light at the end of the tunnel as the Grand Ole Opry unveils the beginnings of its momentous 100th birthday celebrations. Kicking off the year with its annual winter retreat to its original home of the Ryman Auditorium,

Per Taste of Country, the former Beatles drummer, who recently released his country album “Look Up” — will headline a show at the Ryman. He was surprised on stage with the invite by Grand Ole Opry member Emmylou Harris. “When is that, July?” Starr said. “I’d love to. It’s an honor and a pleasure. Thank you.”

During one of his two nights performing at the Ryman, Ringo Starr was surprised by Emmylou Harris who invited the former Beatles drummer to make his Grand Ole Opry.

Tuesday night in Nashville, Emmylou Harris invited famed Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to make his Grand Ole Opry debut in February.

The British Invasion will include a Ringo Starr performance at the Grand Ole Opry.
