Sonos has reportedly paused its plans to get into the video streaming service. A device which was expected to launch this year has been shelved, according to a report in The Verge. Workers will be reassigned to other projects.

Despite apparently being far along Sonos is cancelling its streaming set top box. The cancellation was announced during an all-hands call according to a report from The Verge's Chris Warren, who is generally tapped into the inner workings of Sonos.

The device, codenamed Pinewood, was set to be the company’s major hardware launch in 2025.
