There is another side that believes that the Northern Irish golfer made a good move, feeling that the PGA Tour will lose the status it has.

Tom McKibbin of Northern Ireland has spurned the advice from mentor Rory McIlroy by giving up a PGA Tour card to join Saudi-backed LIV Golf. McKibbin, a 22-year-old who won his only European tour event in 2023, has signed to play with Jon Rahm and his Legions 13 team. LIV Golf starts its season next week in Saudi Arabia.

Bryson DeChambeau has opened the door to taking part in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's revolutionary golf league, but only if his LIV Golf team is allowed to enter. TGL, which stands for the Tomorrow Golf League, has been warmly received by professional golfers, pundits and fans after debuting earlier this month in Florida.
