Madness continues Sunday with four more Elite Eight games in the men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments. The women started things off, with defending champion South Carolina outlasting Duke to return to the Final Four,
Dramatic, last-second losses by 10-seed Arkansas and 6-seed Ole Miss were the closest we got to having “surprise” entries into the Elite Eight. In fact, 3-seed Texas Tech – which needed a 16-point second-half comeback to get past the Razorbacks – is somehow the only team seeded No. 3 or lower still in the field.
Milos Uzan led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting, none bigger than his last-second layup to win the game. He added six assists and three rebounds and was 6-of-9 from three-point range. Emmanuel Sharp added 17 for Houston.
