Runaway Ligue 1 leaders Paris St Germain have been better in attack and defence since striker Kylian Mbappe moved to Real Madrid last year, coach Luis Enrique said before they host third-placed AS Monaco on Friday.

Despite Mbappe's impressive record of 256 goals in 308 matches over seven years at PSG, Enrique believes the team has become stronger. PSG are currently leading Ligue 1, maintaining an unbeaten streak across Europe's top five leagues after 20 games.

Kylian Mbappe's departure for Real Madrid has not harmed runaway Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain, according to Luis Enrique.

Kylian Mbappe left PSG to join Real Madrid in June after seven years in Paris, having scored more than 170 goals in Ligue 1 from more than 200 appearances for the club.

Luis Enrique is confident Paris Saint-Germain are better off without Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé bid farewell to PSG for Real Madrid last summer after a seven-year stint with the French giants. The 26-year-old played an integral part in PSG's Ligue 1 dominance and departed Paris as the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

Luis Enrique had predicted that Paris Saint-Germain would evolve into a more collective team after Kylian Mbappé's departure. On the eve of the clash against Monaco, the Spanish coach reaffirmed this vision,

After a hugely successful era at PSG, Mbappe secured a blockbuster free transfer to Madrid last summer. Now manager Luis Enrique, who dropped the Frenchman on a number of occasions last season, believes his side have responded superbly to the 26-year-old's departure and that they are a better team without him.
