The Golden State Warriors were looking to bring back former star Kevin Durant ahead of the 2025 NBA trade deadline, but Durant ultimately turned down any chance of a reunion. Despite winning two NBA Finals and two NBA Finals MVP awards while playing for the Warriors, Durant was opposed to getting traded back to Golden State.

Durant does not have a no-trade clause, but as noted by Chris Haynes, the Warriors would not have much interest in trading for Durant if he does not actually want to play there.

Golden State, which sits one game over .500 at 25-24, is looking to add another superstar to pair with Stephen Curry. The Suns, also a 25-24, have been Jimmy Butler’s preferred destination as he seeks to leave Miami, but Phoenix is hamstrung by Bradley Beal’s no-trade clause.
