The Dallas Stars had yet another player take a puck to the face. With just over 16 minutes left in the second quarter during Monday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild, new forward Mikko Rantanen was on the receiving end of an arrant puck and had to leave the game after suffering the blow to his face.

Rantanen signed an eight-year, $96 million extension with Dallas following the trade, ensuring his long-term future with the team. Since joining the Stars, he has quickly made an impact, recording three points (two goals, one assist) while playing on the top line.
