Ilya Sorokin made 30 saves, and Simon Holmstrom scored a goal and added two assists as the Isles used their biggest third period outburst since March 2023 to earn a 5-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche before a crowd of 15,735 at UBS Arena.

The 5-10, 175-pound Perunovich logged 18:52 and was a plus-2 with two shots, earning enough of Roy’s trust to play key shifts in the third period. Tony DeAngelo, signed out of the KHL on Friday, played 22:11 with two blocked shots as he also earned his first point as an Islander with an assist in his second game.
Sorokin made 24 saves in a 3-0 win over the Flyers on Thursday. Sorokin has won five straight games and seven of his last eight games. He's also run up three shutouts in that span. Sorokin is an elite netminder who hasn't been getting a lot of support from his teammates,
The Colorado Avalanche are still trying to shake off the effects of their trade last week. Still, they’ve had the opportunity for plenty of team bonding as they finish a lengthy East Coast road trip with a matchup with the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.
Holmstrom finished the night with three points, improving his season totals to 11 goals, 15 assists, and 26 points in 42 games. UP NEXT: The Islanders head on the road Thursday at 7:30 PM ET against the Philadelphia Flyers.
