Bridgestone Americas has announced that it's slashing 700 Tennessee jobs to "optimize its business footprint."

Bridgestone is planning to close its LaVergne, Tenn., truck/bus tire plant and undertake additional workforce reductions in Iowa and in its corporate, sales staff.
