EDMONTON -- Evan Bouchard scored with seven seconds left in overtime to give the Edmonton Oilers a 3-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens at Rogers Place on Thursday. Bouchard, who also had an assist, tapped in a pass from Connor McDavid at the side of the net.
The Montreal Canadiens are riding a streak of their own as they have won a season-high five straight games. The Canadiens won their only meeting with the Oilers this season by a 3-0 score, holding both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl without a point. That marked the sixth time they held McDavid and Draisaitl without a point in the same game.
The Canadiens managed a much-needed point on Thursday thanks to the play of Joel Armia and David Savard — both of whom had more cause than anyone in a Canadiens uniform to be distracted.
