Indiana State Police say a deputy tried to arrest the man when an “altercation took place.” Investigators say the suspect had a firearm.
"During the traffic stop, the officer attempted to arrest the suspect when the suspect resisted," according to state police.

The Indiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, which led to the death of Matthew Huttle, 42, from Hobart, on Sunday.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Merit Board will meet on Monday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in Rensselaer. The meeting is held in the administration office in the conference room.
