Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard is out against the Pistons with a thoracic spine sprain and guard Bennedict Mathurin is out with an illness.
Mathurin (illness) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons. After a 13-point performance in Saturday's blowout win against the Spurs, Mathurin might not be able to get on the floor Wednesday against Detroit because of an illness.
This is only a one-game suspension, so Mathurin will be back on Saturday for the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Pacers are going to need him for as many games as possible because of the scoring and rebounding he brings to the roster. So far this season, Mathurin is averaging 16.5 points, six points, and two assists per game.
The Indiana Pacers have the best record in the NBA in the month of January. They are 10-2 and look like they are one of the best teams in the league. Indiana is finally healthy, which is why they are starting to make this run up the Eastern Conference standings.
Mathurin (illness) is out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.

The Golden State Warriors are considering a trade for Indiana Pacers' young talent Bennedict Mathurin to support Stephen Curry amidst ongoing injuries
In light of the Feb. 6 trade deadline looming, the Indiana Pacers must traverse cautiously. As the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, only one loss out of the fourth, they could improve or ruin their playoff picture with a trade. A recent report mentioned a Pacers wing in a potential trade with the Los Angeles Lakers .
Following their massive victory with both Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga sidelined due to injury, Warriors' general manager Mike Dunleavy may be tempted to add another young, consistent scoring option to both help two-time MVP Stephen Curry compete in the present and act as a bridge to the future for the organization.
The Indiana Pacers have been on a roll lately and are currently the fifth team in the East with a 26-20 record. But just because they have gone 8-2 in their last 10 games doesn’t mean they won’t participate in a trade before next week’s deadline.
Indiana played without starters Bennedict Mathurin (illness) and Andrew Nembhard (back). The Pacers won the season series over the Pistons 3-1.
