Aldi finalized a sale to acquire Winn-Dixie and Harveys grocery stores from Southeastern Grocers in March, and the conversion process is now underway for some Winn-Dixie stores across Florida.
A shift is taking place in South Florida's grocery market, with Winn-Dixie exploring new changes at some of its stores following a major merger.
Last week, signs placed outside the Winn-Dixie on Bee Ridge Road and McIntosh Road alerted customers that the store is closing. It will remain open throughout the month of January and then be converted into an Aldi grocery store that will open later in 2025.

Action News Jax confirmed Thursday that the Winn-Dixie at 1545 County Road 220 will close its doors Sunday, January 19th for renovations. It will open back up to the public after several months as the area’s newest Aldi.
