ASUS looks to be making a new non-Intel NUC: rumored new NUC has AMD's latest (and kick ass) Ryzen AI Max+ 395 'Strix Halo' APU inside. ASUS is reportedly preparing a new family of NUC Mini-PCs that will be powered by AMD's new Ryzen AI Max "Strix Halo" APUs.

What Intel is arguing for is more open source and standardized from the factory floor to repair shops and the home user. This would mean that anyone could find components and tools to repair or upgrade their laptop.

Since taking over the NUC line of mini PCs from Intel in 2023, Asus has continued to offer small desktops with Intel and AMD processor options. But so far the company has only used the NUC brand for models with Intel processors, while marketing AMD-powered systems as ExpertCenter systems.
