The Trump administration ousted Coast Guard Commandant Linda Fagan, who is the first woman to lead a branch of the U.S. military.

The commandant of the US Coast Guard has been removed from her position over “leadership deficiencies” and “operational failures,” a Department of Homeland Security official confirmed to CNN on Tuesday.

The U.S. Coast Guard said it will send personnel and equipment to areas along the U.S. border in response to executive orders issued by President Donald Trump.
