Memphis is under a winter storm warning set to continue through Saturday morning with up to 6 inches of snow expected Friday. As it gets closer to the storm, warnings or watches could be issued by the National Weather Service.

The storm will bring "widespread snow accumulations" with a mixture of sleet and freezing rain possible south of Interstate 40 with "light ice accumulation possible."

Another massive winter storm is forecast to pummel the southern and eastern U.S., with impacts from Texas to the Carolinas.
