Some Conservative MPs are expressing support for party leader Pierre Poilievre after he lost both the federal election and his own seat on Monday.

As vote counting came to a close in the late hours of election night, counting revealed that Poilievre, who has led the Conservative Party since 2022, would lose to Liberal newcomer Bruce Fanjoy, who secured the seat with just over 50 per cent of the vote share.
