An area stretching from Houston into southern Louisiana has already recorded widespread 3 to 6 inches of snow, with at least one locale hitting the double-digit mark, and more is on the way.

Some areas in Louisiana and Alabama saw over 11 inches of snow, with nearly 10 inches in Florida and nearly 8 inches in Georgia, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Elsewhere in Louisiana, L ake Charles could see a top five biggest snowstorm by receiving 3 inches of snow. The blizzard warning in the region was set to expire at noon CDT, the weather service said.
