McLaren's Lando Norris beat home favourite Charles Leclerc to Formula 1 pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix as Mercedes suffered a qualifying disaster.

Charles Leclerc was furious after missing out on Monaco pole and his raw team radio and post-session comments show how much it stung.

Lewis Hamilton was fifth, but as he chased a late improvement the seven-time world champion lost control over his Ferrari in the long left-hander of Massenet, sliding into the barriers with his right-rear and then right-front, causing a red flag that effectively ended the session.
