The label goes on to refute allegations that “Not Like Us” issued a “call to violence,” as Drake’s security guard was shot outside the rapper’s home days after the song’s release. UMG claims that “Drake attempts to contort violent metaphors in the lyrics into incitement.”

The label behind Drake and Kendrick Lamar filed a motion on Monday to dismiss Drake’s lawsuit, which accused it of defamation and harassment over the diss song.

Universal Music Group said in a court filing that Drake “lost a rap battle that he provoked and in which he willingly participated” against Kendrick Lamar.
