BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A complex of storms in Central Texas will move into Southeast Texas and the Brazos Valley over the course of the day, bringing scattered storms and a localized wind and flooding threat into at least the early evening.

The dip in temperatures will be a welcome change for those who have struggled in the heat this weekend. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland recorded their hottest day of the year so far on Saturday.

On the high end, some 3 to 4 inches of rain are expected over South Florida; the heaviest precipitation is expected Monday night.

Heavy rain lashed Delhi and NCR on Sunday evening, prompting the India Meteorological Department to upgrade its orange alert to red alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.

A "considerable" flash flood warning was issued in Boston on Thursday morning as heavy rain pounded the city and areas to the south.Four to 6 inches of rain fell in the towns of Canton, Quincy and North Scituate.

Our bigger concern will be the chance for flooding Saturday due to the heavy rainfall. We expect showers and storms to be very efficient at producing heavy rain. Due to this, there is a Slight Risk for flash flooding across a wide swath of the state.

Massachusetts was battered by a swath of heavy rainstorms this week, with some areas flooded under several inches of water. “This time of year, we get thunderstorms and rain events that produce very localized pockets of heavy rainfall,” said National Weather Service forecaster Hayden Frank.
