On Tuesday, June 3, authorities announced that Tim Keiderling, 58, and his daughter Esther, 28, were missing after setting out to hike Mount Katahdin at around 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 1. Tim's body was confirmed to have been found later on Tuesday.

Their bodies were found near the summit of Mount Katahdin, at the end of the Appalachian Trail, officials said, after a search that began on Monday.
