U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States had "just about" ended a suspension of intelligence sharing with Ukraine, and that he expects good results out of upcoming talks with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia.

The Trump administration appears to have ordered at least a partial halt to the crucial intelligence that the United States shares with Ukraine to defend against the Russian invasion, according to a US military official and public remarks made by top Trump administration officials.

The United States halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine, CIA Director John Ratcliffe said Wednesday, a move that could weaken the Ukrainian military’s ability to target Russian forces on the battlefield.

Officials say the halt in assistance is a warning to the Ukrainians of the consequences of not cooperating with the president.

The Trump administration on Wednesday cut off most military channel intelligence sharing with Ukraine, officials said.

The United States has restricted intelligence-sharing with Ukraine in addition to enforcing a pause in U.S military assistance to the country trying to stave off Russia's three-year full-scale invasion,

The administration has been tight-lipped as to how far the ban will go. Even Ukrainian officials say they are unsure.
