NIL and conference realignment have altered a college football landscape that currently looks very different from how it did at the start of the decade.

Mike Gundy is a fan of Bedlam in April, and he’s not talking about softball. The Oklahoma State football coach pitched the idea that the Cowboys should pair up with OU for a spring scrimmage rather than the fan showcase type of events that programs are moving toward in spring.

Many programs, including Nebraska, USC, Ohio State, and Texas, have also canceled spring games. Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule is one of the strongest voices against spring games in this new era. He and other coaches believe it's only an opportunity for their players to get poached by other schools or injured.
