Police are investigation the death of an 8-year-old boy found suffering from a gunshot wound in New Haven on Sunday night. Officers were dispatched following a report of a person shot at a residence in New Haven around 10:54 p.m. on Sunday night, according to the New Haven Police Department.

An 8-year-old boy was killed in what police described as an accidental shooting in New Haven. Police said they responded to an address just before 11 p.m. on Sunday. The victim was found on a kitchen floor with an apparent gunshot wound.

New Haven police said responding officers found the child at the home with a gunshot wound, and a firearm was recovered.
